The Somatic and Sexual Sovereignty Alliance (SASSA) is a collaborative training and consultation practice founded by psychotherapists Hillary Baldwin Steller, LMSW, SEP, and Heidi Sproull, LMSW, CST.
SASSA provides professional development for mental health clinicians seeking to integrate somatic awareness and sex-positive therapy approaches into clinical practice.
SASSA's mission centers on the concept of sovereignty—the right to whole self-governance over one's own body, sexuality, and embodied experience. Through trauma-informed, consent-focused training, SASSA supports clinicians in becoming "settled bodies" capable of holding space for clients navigating complex trauma, nervous system dysregulation, and sexual health concerns.
Drawing on expertise in Somatic Experiencing (Peter Levine), AASECT-certified sex therapy, and attachment-focused trauma work, SASSA offers workshops, consultation, and resources that empower therapists to work with greater embodied presence, clinical confidence, and comprehensive awareness of sexuality as integral to human wholeness.
